Our charges are calculated, principally, by reference to the amount of time we spend on productive work and in giving advice to clients. The complexity of the matter, the skill required to solve the problems and the value of our advice will also be taken into account. Please remember that when we identify a cost by reference to a price for each hour of productive advice, behind each hour, there are many years of experience. Our charging rates and terms of business are available on application.
It is our practice, so far as possible, to keep all clients informed on a regular basis of the work in progress and the cost of that work. If a client has a particular budget in mind, we will try to work within that budget but please remember that most problems have an unpredictability about them (whether as a matter of law or the reaction of others) which makes accurate estimating very difficult. It helps us greatly (and keep costs down) if our clients can ensure that, whenever possible, they give us clear and prompt instructions on the matter at the outset and as it proceeds.
We normally render interim bills at the end of every month in respect of work carried out to that date. We like to receive payment within 14 days of invoice as receiving prompt payment helps us to keep costs down for all our clients.
